A twisted band is two strands of metal wound around each other into one band, and it is the way to get a ring that looks like it was made rather than bought without putting a single diamond in it. What a twisted band is
Two drawn strands of metal — sometimes three — are twisted together and soldered into a single band, then cut, filed, set and polished as one piece. The twist can be a tight rope, an open spiral, or a soft wave that only reads as a twist when the light moves across it.
It can be made in any metal we work in, and the two strands do not have to match: a yellow gold strand twisted with a white gold one gives you a band that picks up both your rings and everything you already wear.

- Big size changes can disturb the twist. Taking a twisted band up or down a few sizes is an ordinary resize. Moving it several sizes means the twist has to be re-drawn at the new circumference, and that is a job for whoever made it — which is a reason to buy it from a jeweller less than an hour away rather than an anonymous site.
- A straight wedding band will not sit perfectly flush against it. This is honest and it is easy to solve: either leave a small gap, which looks deliberate and is what most people do, or we make the wedding band contoured to sit around the twist. Tell us at the start and we will cut them as a pair.
- It is not a shape you can select in the builder on this site. A twist is drawn by hand, so it starts as a conversation rather than a dropdown.
